ECSE Index
The ECSE EC-Share Index, established as at 31st December 2004, was developed to track the performance of all domestic equities listed on the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange. That is, shares of listed companies based in member territories of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU).
Securities market indices are often designed to measure the performance of a particular industry, like banking or manufacturing. An index may also reflect a particular geographical region, like the ECCU or CARICOM. It is anticipated that as the number and variety of listed equities increases, industry-specific and regional indices will also be developed.
